Biography
Daughter to a Osaka Yakuza warlord, After her brother and boyfriend were killed in the gang wars proceeding the assassination of Masahiro Hayamoto, Yamazaki's parents sent her to live in the USA, where she graduated from UCLA. She returned from Japan, moving to Tokyo, and found work in a Yakuza-owned real estate company.
She returned to the world of organized crime after her Yakuza cousin was arrested for gunrunning. Quickly becoming the Yakuza's go-to attorney, she achieved national fame after acquitting 5 Yakuza bosses.
Recruited into Providence as a Herald, Yamazaki was assigned as the liaison to Erich Soders, the turncoat ICA director. On the day of her death, she was enjoying herself at the GAMA facility, presumably planning to speak to Soders after his surgery.
Personality
Yuki Yamazaki has a risk-taking, daring personality, yearning for fugu sushi despite the obvious danger. As a lawyer, Yamazaki is shown to have a loose grasp of morals, not afraid to blackmail, threaten or bribe to win a case. She has a cigarette addiction and experiences withdrawal signs throughout her stay. The laws meant very little to Yamazaki, and she would constantly break them to fulfill her own desires. Instead of waiting for her turn for yoga training, she forcibly cancelled everyone else's schedules in order to use the yogi's services herself. She also complained about the sauna being too cold, despite the fact that a hotter temperature would have been dangerous to anybody using it. She primarily looked out for herself and would disadvantage anyone if it meant that she got even the smallest gain.
Trivia
- Yamazaki's deaths usually arise from her carefree and irresponsible nature, like eating fugu fish even when warned of the risk, doing yoga over the edge of a cliff, and using a sauna that is incredibly hot.
- Ironically, Yamazaki can die the exact same way as the son of Hayamoto, the man who helped her rise to power, due to botched fugu fish.
- Her tattoos would be considered scandulous in Japan, usually being associated with criminals or mobsters. This references her carefree nature and disregard for customs.
