Yuki Yoshida is the main antagonist of the The Amazing World of Gumball episode "The Fury." She is Masami Yoshida's mother and the former arch-nemesis of Nicole Watterson.

Appearance[]

She is a tall, humanoid cloud with a slender body. Her face features simple, oval eyes, and a small mouth with red lipstick. She has flowing, curly white hair.

She is attired in a tailored black suit, consisting of a fitted blazer and matching trousers, along with high-heeled shoes and golden earrings.

Biography[]

In her childhood, Yuki shared a deep bond with Nicole as they both studied martial arts under the tutelage of Yuki's father. They excelled in their training, often competing in tournaments. However, their friendship became strained after they were pitted against each other in the final match of their last tournament. Yuki lost the fight and, disheartened before her sensei, returned to Japan to pursue fruitful training in her shame, determined to one day face Nicole again for revenge and to reclaim her honor. Nicole, on the other hand, quit due to sadness over losing her friend.

Years later, Yuki tracks Nicole down outside Elmore Jr. High, demanding a rematch. Nicole, however, refuses to engage. That evening, as Nicole picks up her children, she finds her car vandalized with "COWARD" sprayed across it. Trying to move past the incident, she takes her family grocery shopping but is further taunted by Yuki, who flirts with Richard. Despite Yuki’s provocations, Nicole still refuses to fight. The following day at the Rainbow Factory, Yuki's harassment continues—she takes over Nicole’s workspace, ruins her lunch, and disrupts her coffee breaks. Eventually, Yuki’s threats to Nicole's job and home push her to the breaking point, and she finally agrees to the fight.

The confrontation takes place at the gym, where Nicole and Yuki engage in a dramatic, anime-style battle while their children watch. When it seems Yuki is defeated, Nicole offers her a chance at reconciliation. However, Yuki, unable to let go of her pride and perceiving Nicole's offer as mere pity, launches another attack, causing the roof to collapse, trapping their children under the rubble. United by their concern for their kids, the two rivals put aside their differences to free them. Afterward, Yuki admits her actions were driven by jealousy, apologizing profusely and showering her in compliments, from which Nicole forgives her. They embrace, expressing how much they have missed each other before the two leave with their kids.

Personality[]

Yuki is an extremely prideful, competitive, and harsh individual, particularly evident in her dealings with her former friend and rival, Nicole Watterson. Deeply aggrieved after losing her final match, Yuki became obsessed with reclaiming her honor and seeks revenge at any cost. She underwent rigorous and fruitful training to match Nicole, quickly becoming a fearsome and ambitious adversary. She is willing to go to any lengths to ruin Nicole's life, such as flirting with Richard, taunting her at work, taking over her workplace, and even sabotaging her car's brakes, all to provoke and challenge Nicole into a confrontation. Ordinarily speaking, Yuki carries herself with an air of sophistication, elegance and confidence.

During their climactic fight, Yuki initially spurns Nicole's offer of reconciliation, interpreting it as a patronizing gesture and unwilling to accept pity. However, the battle endangers their children, prompting both to set aside their differences to protect them. Afterwards, Yuki experiences a change of heart and sincerely apologizes to Nicole for her jealousy, showering her with compliments. The two women reconcile and rebuild their friendship, returning Yuki to the friendly and supportive attitude she likely had a prodigy.
