Yulian Kuznetsov is the main antagonist of the 2021 action film Nobody. He is a Russian mobster who aims to kill Hutch Mansell as revenge for hospitalizing his brother, Teddy Kuznetsov.
He was portrayed by Aleksei Serebryakov.
Personality[]
Yulian is an unhinged sociopath who is prone to bursts of violence, which he rarely faces consequences for thanks to his influential power. He also has a curiosity for taking drugs, which enhances his ire and greed. Despite his dangerously violent nature, Yulian enjoys dancing and singing in clubs and likes to have little moments of fun. He also holds high regard for his second-in-command Pavel, defending him against accusations from other crime lords he worked with.
Even though it's true that he hated him, Yulian does at least care for his younger brother, Teddy, to a degree, tearing up when he saw him hospitalized, and the reason he is after Hutch is to avenge him regardless. While knowing how dangerous Hutch was, Yulian nevertheless underestimated the former, calling Hutch stupid when Yulian himself was actually the one who’s stupid for going after Hutch in the first place no matter how many times he was warned about his history and Hutch proved to be very smart after defeating his goons, which eventually led to his own downfall.
Biography[]
Yulian is first seen entering a nightclub after making his performance and later murders a bouncer when his clients suggest he tone down his bombastic flair, demonstrating his seriousness in monitoring the Obshak. After the bus brawl in which Hutch Mansell hospitalizes a gang of thugs, one of which happens to be the crime lord's brother, Teddy, Yulian appears at the hospital and demands to know who is responsible, attacking one of his injured men when he says that a single man did it. He has one of his staff dox this "nobody's" identity and sends a hit squad to Mansell's house, where at least three of them, one of them being his right-hand man, Pavel, who survived the assault subdue him after a brutal confrontation.
Hutch escapes their captivity and in revenge, burns down Yulian's criminal trade union, the Obshak, while giving Kuznetsov a chance to leave him alone. Yulian foolishly refuses and sends another team of hitmen to attack the metal factory Hutch had bought from his father-in-law Eddie in preparation. Hutch, his father David, and his half-brother Harry fight off the men using various traps and weapons before Hutch confronts Yulian directly. Yulian attempts to shoot Mansell, but the latter rams him with an M18A1 Claymore attached to a bulletproof glass pane, exploding in Yulian's face point-blank and finally killing him.
