Yuuki Kagurazaka is a major antagonist in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise.
A twisted genius who was transported from Japan to a fantasy world and a former student of fellow otherworlder Shizue Izawa, he leads the Moderate Harlequin Alliance and seeks to conquer this new world.
He is mastermind responsable for behind of attempted incriminations and conspirations against Rimuru as an excuse and also for revenge for Clayman's death, until finds out truth that he was controlled by Eastern Empire and revealed that Yuuki and Moderate Harlequin Alliance are used as their pawns during Damrada's betrayal. However after his defeat at hands of Emperor Rudra, he decides joins him to destroy Tempest for his fate to create a peaceful world.
He was voiced by Natsuki Hanae in Japanese and Clifford Chapin in English.
Appearance[]
Yuuki Kagurazaka is an attractive young man, with the typical appearance of a Japanese high school student. He has short, straight, light brown hair, almost hazelnut brown. His bangs tend to fall slightly over his forehead. His eyes are large, dark brown, expressive and always shining with determination or kindness, depending on the situation. Yuuki usually wears a white shirt, dark blazer (sometimes navy blue), and neutral-toned pants.
Personality[]
Yuuki is an opportunistic sociopath, hellbent on taking over the world he was transported to. That said, he is also patient, resourceful, and cunning. He quickly established himself as a kindhearted and brave adventurer, gaining the position of grandmaster of the Free Guild rather quickly. He manages a bright and cheerful persona when out in the open, carefully hiding his insidious and manipulative nature. He has little regard for other's lives, seeing them as pawns or toys for his amusement.
That said, he seems to care for the Moderate Harlequin Alliance to some degree, seeing them as trusted companions. He even showed remorse and sadness when he heard about Clayman's death and took the blame for it when Laplace tried to direct Footman's anger towards himself. He also states that he dislikes slavery.
Although he is secretly a villain, Yuuki is humble and kind to people and helps those who care, including respectfully Shizu who was one of the former students, at the Tempest festival, he always cares and spends time with friends celebrating happily, being a manipulator of every conspiracy, he believes that the world is being corrupt and wars,he become pride and greedy with his goal and wants to conquer the world to recreate a peaceful world, a perfect dream where he and his clown allies can have fun without pain and suffering.
Trivia[]
- Yuuki from the Web Novel was portrayed as an utterly heartless, power-hungry and uncaring individual who only wanted to destroy the world in order to fill his boredom, but the Light Novel series portrayed him as a much more multi-dimensional and complicated individual who did have a few redeeming qualities. Thus far, his characteristics received a lot of change in the LN in comparison to his WN version.
