Yvette is a major antagonist in Tales from the Borderlands. She is a Hyperion employee and longtime friend, later enemy of Rhys and Vaughn.
She was voiced by Sola Bamis.
Biography[]
Yvette is a Hyperion employee and been friends with Rhys and Vaughn for a long time. When Hugo Vazquez screwed Rhys over his position as a vice leader, Rhys scans his computer and plans to steal his deal of getting a Vault Key from a guy on Pandora named August, but Yvette decided to stay in Hyperion while Rhys and Vaughn visit August to get the Vault Key.
later after the deal fell apart due to both Rhys and Vaughn, and Fiona and Sasha trying to scam August with a fake Vault Key which broke, and the money was taken and they ended up getting away from August, as Rhys tried to call Yvette, she tells him that he and Vaughn are now blacklisted on Hyperion for their insubordination and can't help them at the moment. But Rhys and Vaugn unwantingly strikes and deal with Sasha, Felix and Fiona to get the money back for them or they'll kill them by throwing them out in the middle of nowhere.
but Felix ended up betraying Fiona and Sasha, trying to take the money for himself but the money gets destroyed due to Vaughn security that will explode if it's not him. Later as Rhys and Vaughn get stranded in Pandora desert she was able to get back in contact with them in private for a brief moment before Vasquez goes down himself to kill Rhys and Vaughn but the two get away from him due to an AI version of Handsome Jack installed into Rhys head which was Vasquez after but unaware what is but knowing it'd very valuable.
Later after the group finds the Gortys project and Vasquez was murdered by his client Vallory, the leader of a mercenary group who captures Rhys, Sasha, Fiona and their friends despite their best efforts of trying to escape. She forces them to go to Hyperion to get the last piece of Gortys project to take the reward and if they refuse, she'd kill them.
When the team gets a rocket ship built by Scooter who died trying to help on their mission, Rhys goes in disguise as Vasquez, so Hyperion won't recognize him, he plans to tell Yvette in person, so she won't be in danger again.
As he was about to tell her as she's unaware that Rhys is in disguise as Vasquez, to his surprise Yvette sold Rhys and Vaughn to Vasquez in the first place, telling him everything out of disgust of Vasquez's failure, saying that she's the reason how Vazquez kept finding Rhys and Vaughn by tracking them down for him and having Vazquez sent down there to retrieve Rhys' head for the most valuable object which was A.I Handsome Jack. But Yvette is unaware that the real Vazquez is dead, and the Real Rhys is right I front her, as he is heartbroken by this reveal from the friend he trusted. But Rhys manages to avoid Yvette to taking him to management.
Later Yvette confronts Vasquez (Rhys in disguise) seeing him hacking her computer in Vasquez's former office and finding out the body he brought back wasn't Rhys, and just as she had enough about to call security, Rhys could either talk her down or shock her with his stun rod to knock her out.
Later Yvette found out that Vazquez is Rhys the whole time by either he smugly reveals himself to her before knocking her out or that she eventually finds out he and his new friends infuriated Hyperion by intercepting their come, Sasha gets captured but she, Fiona and Gortys knock Yvette and the guards out, they lock them in the cells.
Handsome Jack eventually takes over Hyperion rather Rhys accepts or refuses, about put hid endoskeleton in him but Rhys escapes, as he crosses paths with Yvette again, if he only talked her down she'd want to help if the Player let's her or not, or if the player zapped her, she'd accuses Rhys of betraying her despite the fact that she betrayed him first as well as she said it herself when he was in disguise, as if Rhys can ask for her help or just leave her to die, knowing she only cares about money, having their friendship done.
Rather if Yvette does or does not escape Hyperion, she presumably died by Skags on Pandora offscreen.
