The Completed Zonder Master Program , better known as the Z-Master, is the overarching antagonist of the 1997 anime The King of Braves GaoGaiGar. It is a powerful computer program designed to transform all life in the universe into machines to prevent the disorder caused by negativity.

It is a combination of the 31 Machine Primevals, antagonists from the second half of the series, and the commanders Pasder and Pagliaccio, major villains from the first and second halves respectively.

The outside body of the Z-Master was voiced by Kenichi Ogata and Konami Yoshida, while The Heart Primeval at its core was voiced by Koji Ishii, who also voiced Ryuji Yamazaki from Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters, Mojo Jojo in the Japanese dub of The Powerpuff Girls, Silva Zoldyck in Hunter x Hunter, Anubis in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light, and Prime Minister Honest in Akame ga Kill!.

Personality

The Z-Master's primary goal is preventing negativity through the use of Zonder Metal, which absorbs negative emotion and uses it as energy. Its "personality" is simply the program attempting to quickly and efficiently distribute Zonder Metal throughout the universe. However, maintaining this goal is ultimately hypocritical, as the actions it takes to protect its mission cause stress and trauma to GGG during their battle with the Z-Master. The Z-Master disregards this, as it believes that obstacles in the way of universal mechanization simply do not deserve to exist.

The Z-Master also taunts those it harms, such as calling GGG weak after failing to harm it, reprimanding Mic Sounders the 13th over mourning the loss of the Mic Brigade, whom the 13th considered his brothers, and telling King J-Der to do better when his strongest attack failed to leave even a scratch.

Biography

The Z-Master program consists of the 31 Machine Primevals and the two terminal programs Pasder and Pagliaccio, extending their influence throughout the entirety of the series. However, as a singular being, they do not exist until very late in.

In GGG's battle with the Primevals at Jupiter, Pagliaccio, the core of the Heart Primeval, and the Arm Primeval combined with the other 29 Primeval cores, in the form of the Z-Crystals, to form the Z-Master. After coming into being, the Z-Master immediately generated a massive amount of Zonder spores, sending them to Earth through an ES Window.

GGG began to engage the Z-Master in battle, although they were unable to harm it due to being fuelled by huge amounts of THE POWER from Jupiter, and its attacks caused massive damage to the GGG division ship Susanoh. A combined attack from Star GaoGaiGar and the Mic Brigade, the Gravity Lens was attempted against the Z-Master, however it failed to incur damage, and the Z-Master's retaliation caused the deaths of most of the Mic Brigade, except for Mic Sounders the 13th.

After slaying the Mic Brigade, the Z-Master began to speak of the necessity of mechanizing the universe, responding to an attempted attack by King J-Der by generating a shockwave that hurled it and GGG's Mobile Unit into Jupiter's atmosphere. Intelligence gathered by GGG's ships confirmed that the Z-Master was utilizing its hair to draw THE POWER from the planet, and as the Mobile Unit was ordered to enter the Z-Master's hair and reach the heart to destroy it, the program attacked the GGG division ship Izanagi, destroying it.

After entering the Z-Master's body, the Primevals' abilities were called upon in an attempt to prevent the Mobile Unit from reaching the heart, telepathic attacks from the Brain Primeval, dart attacks from the Ear Primeval, gusts of repelling wind from the Nose Primeval, the Atomic Disassembly power from the Rib Primeval, and magma blasts from the Spine Primeval. These respectively halted the advances of King J-Der, Big Volfogg, GouRyuJin, Mic Sounders the 13th, and GenRyuJin. Star GaoGaiGar and Goldymarg encountered the Lung and Stomach primevals on their way to the heart, but were unimpeded by them.

As Star GaoGaiGar reached the Z-Master's heart, he was slammed into the wall of the heart's chamber as the Z-Master continued to tell of how mechanization was a necessary step in the evolution of life. As King J-Der and the Mobile Unit joined Star GaoGaiGar in the heart's chamber, it began to attack by shooting beams from its blood vessels. GenRyuJin, GouRyuJin, and Star GaoGaiGar moved to open up the veins, intending for King J-Der to enter them to destroy the heart from inside. Mic Sounders and Big Volfogg worked to weaken its defenses and prevent retaliation.

After King J-Der entered the inside of the heart and began to output massive amounts of THE POWER, the Z-Master began to swell as its insides were overloaded with the energy. While the attack's recoil wore heavily at King J-Der's structure, the pilot of the machine, Soldato-J, vowed to return to fight with Guy Shishiou, pilot of Star GaoGaiGar, once more. King J-Der was shunted outside the edge of the universe, but the Z-Master was utterly destroyed by the overflow of energy, totally eradicating Zonder Metal from the universe.
