Zabil (ザビル Zabiru) is an overarching antagonist of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga and one of two main antagonists (alongside Celebro) of Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z. He is a human from Ultra-Ancient Civilization who is a leader of the group of cult named Reylah. He also goes undercover as a new captain of GUTS-Select, Ryūichi Tokioka (トキオカ リュウイチ Tokioka Ryūichi).
He was portrayed by Yuichi Nakamura, who portrays an alternate version of Yuto Sakurai in Kamen Rider Outsiders.
Biography[]
Past[]
30 million years ago, Zabil is a human from Ultra-Ancient Civilization who worked as a scientist under Yuzare's Terran Protection Team. He helped her during their fight against the Dark Giants. He also witnessed Yuzare's death, and Trigger turning into light and sealing into darkness. He tried to save her but it was too late as she fades away, before he fell onto his knees and crying in despair. With his comrades died during the battle, he began to fell into darkness and believed that he should be a light instead. He found an Ancient Sparklence and left a message at the stone tablet, foreshadowing the Dark Giants' eventual return.
Made it to modern era, he joined the TPU and began to work with Mitsukuni Shizuma. He presented an Ancient Sparklence to him, which made him impressed. When his plan began to set into motion, he helped them researching the remains of Ultra-Ancient Civilizations ruins and even guided Akito Hijiri during their study of Ancient Sparklence and its mechanism, leading him to invent GUTS Sparklence.
Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga[]
While he was never seen in the series, he's still responsible for everything that has happened in the series. He and the rest of the cult witnessing Ultraman Trigger's revival, his fight between the Dark Giants, and his eventual sacrifice to stabilize the Eternity Core. They even chanted that Trigger will eventually return one day.
At some point, he succeeded Seiya Tatsumi as a new captain of GUTS-Select since he moved to TPU's security team and has helped them defeat the monsters during their recurring attacks.
Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z[]
As part of his plan, GUTS-Select and the Reylah group worked together to remove Kengo from the Eternity Core by sending a sunlight through the Sol Satellite. With Kengo returned, he and the others were searching for the Hyper Keys. After Trigger returned, he helped Trigger defeat the monster and escaped from his death after a possessed Ultraman Z shoots at him. With the GUTS Sparklence and the Hyper Keys obtained, he used those items to hooking it up on Altar, sacrificed the lives of the cultists to create a "light" that is based on Trigger's data. He then used an Ancient Sparklence to transform into Evil Trigger, consumed by his desire of messianic figure of humanity. Following Evil Trigger's destruction, he turned back into Zabil and falls into a ground. He watched the group looking at him sympathetically, while remembering the good times he gets along with his comrades and smiling at Yuzare, before he fades away.
