Zafkiel, also known as Jafkiel, Japhkiel, Tzaphkiel, Zaphkiel, Zafchial, Zaphchial, Zaphiel or Zelel, is a powerful living but emotionless weapon that is one of the 7 archangels and a villain in the Date A Live series.

Zafkiel in Theology

His name means knowledge of God. He is sometimes equated with Jophiel / Zophiel but other teams considered a different angel Zaphkiel is head of the order of thrones and of the 9 angels that rule the "Opaque Sky.

Also one of the seven archangels. He can assist people when they need to make important decisions and when they need to put into words for others. If they are not sure of the words, he will help them make the message clearer. He is associated with the planet Saturn.

Zafkiel in Date A Live

The angel Zafkiel is the angel of the Spirit Kurumi Tokisaki, Zafkiel is one of the most powerful angels, but it is also a double-edged sword. Every time she uses her skills, it consumes the life time of Kurumi, and to get back the time of her life, she needs to have time to devour the lives of others people to fill again the time of her life.

Along with the angel comes 2 exquisitely designed pistols as weapons that resemble the hands of a clock: the musket for the minute hand and flint for the hour, that seem to have the fomarts of weapons that were used in the 19th century.

To activate whatever power, Kurumi must first call her angel Zafkiel, and position the flint with the number of bullet in the Angel. Then she needs to shoot the bullet on target with the gun. In the event that she needs to use her power in herself, so she is bound to shoot up, the powers of Zafkiel station over the base to be around for as long or manipulate time according Kurumi want to use it.
