Live-action series[]
Zandar is a supporting antagonist in the 2013 film G.I. Joe: Retaliation, played by Matt Gerald. As opposed to being a member of Dreadnoks, he is a direct member of COBRA himself. In the film, he is assigned by Cobra Commander to serve as head of the security detail for Zartan, who is impersonating the President of the U.S.. Part of Zandar's job was also to hold the real President hostage in his bunker, as Cobra Commander intends to use a satellite system in sending down tungsten rods to force all countries to surrender to him. Zandar even desired to burned down the U.S. Constitution to ensure COBRA's control of the U.S..
However, the plot was foiled by the Joes, who managed to expose Zartan's identity to the public. When several Joes arrive to rescue the President, Zandar tries to hold the President hostage, only to be shot to his death by General Joseph Colton (the original Joe).
