Zebul and Troll are minor antagonists in Dragon Quest: The Emblem of Roto. They were a pair of monsters living Hermit's Hideway that Dragonlord decided to use as pawns to destroy the Holy Orb.
Personality[]
Zebul is a tiny demon that is power hungry, and is ashamed about his small size. While he seems to be willing to have Troll killed for having a higher position, he shown immediate regrets in doing so.
As for Troll, he is a dimwitted troll that is incapable of speaking, only able to make "Guo" sound. He completely trusts Zebul, to the point that he trusted Zebul's lies about the Holy Orb.
Biography[]
Zebul and Troll were a pair of monsters living in a cave near Hermit's Hideout. Zebul helped Troll to look for food, while Troll protected Zebul in return. After Dragonlord found the location of Arus, one of the descendants of Roto, he ordered Zebul to destroy the Holy Orb, even if it meant the death of his friend. while Zebul was hesitant at first, he followed Dragonlord's orders out of fear. Zebul and Troll then went to Hermit's Hideout and destroyed the tower that held the Holy Orb. Zebul told Troll that the Holy Orb will give wisdom to those who ate it, and as a result, Troll ate it, destroying the orb and causing an explosion, killing Troll instantly.
Zebul shows great regret to this, but went to the stream to find Arus anyway. Zebul had some Dragonfly to fight Arus, who used his magic on them. Zebul then appeared, freezing Kira's arm with his freezing breath. Despite this, Kira still kept hitting Zebul. Arus tried to stop Kira, which gave an opening and let Zebul wound Kira's arm. This angered Arus, allowing him to gather magic power and cast Sizzle to Zebul at close range, fatally burning him. Zebul asked his minions to help, but they refused, as they were all scared away by Arus. Soon, Zebul died from his wounds while begging for forgiveness from Troll.
