|~ Zed to his best friend Maynard.|
Zed is one of the antagonists of the 1994 black comedic crime thriller film by Quentin Tarantino, Pulp Fiction. He is a treacherous homosexual rapist who victimizes men that he and his accomplice, Maynard, kidnap. Zed rapes Marcellus Wallace inside basement of Maynard's pawn shop. He serves as the main antagonist of the chapter called "The Gold Watch".
Boxer Butch Coolidge is being chased by crime boss Marcellus Wallace into a pawn shop, where Butch disarms him and prepares to shoot him in the head. Suddenly the pawn shop owner, Maynard, holds Butch at gun point with his shotgun, forcing him to walk up to the front desk with his hands behind his head, before knocking him out with the stock of the shotgun while Marcellus passes out from the fight with Butch. Meanwhile, Maynard calls Zed and says that, "the spider caught himself a couple of flies".
Later on, Maynard wakes them both up and they find themselves bound and gagged. Zed arrives and tells Maynard to wake up 'The Gimp', and chooses Marcellus with a game of "eenie meenie miny moe". Leaving The Gimp to watch over Butch, they take Marcellus into the back room, bend him over a volting horse and begin to rape him. Butch manages to untie himself and knock The Gimp out, but just as he is about to leave the pawn shop, he realizes he cannot leave Marsellus to his fate and goes back to save him with a katana in hand.
Butch sneaks up on Maynard and brutally slashes and stabs him, then holds Zed at bay with the katana. Marsellus frees himself and picks up Maynard's shotgun. Before Zed can grab his pistol, Marsellus shoots him in the crotch. He vows that Zed's suffering has only begun, promising that he will "get medieval on [his] ass". Since Butch saved him, Marcellus calls off his feud with him, providing time for Butch to leave Los Angeles and keep what happened there to himself. Butch does so and takes Zed's chopper to pick up his girlfriend Fabienne and leave Los Angeles for good. While what happens to Zed afterwards is unknown, it's implied that Marcellus kept his word and Zed was tortured, mutilated and killed by his men as his many previous victims.
- According to a commentary, Zed and Maynard had killed one of their previous victims before Butch and Marcellus were kidnapped.
