Biography
Boxer Butch Coolidge is being chased by crime boss Marsellus Wallace into a pawn shop, where Butch disarms him and prepares to shoot him in the head. Suddenly the pawn shop owner, Maynard, holds Butch at gun point with his shotgun, forcing him to walk up to the front desk with his hands behind his head, before knocking him out with the stock of the shotgun while Marsellus passes out from the fight with Butch. Meanwhile, Maynard calls Zed and says that, "a spider just caught a couple of flies".
Later on, Maynard wakes them both up and they find themselves bound and gagged. Zed arrives and tells Maynard to wake up their slave, the "Gimp," and chooses Marsellus with a game of "eenie meenie miny moe". Leaving The Gimp to watch over Butch, they take Marsellus into the back room, bend him over a vaulting horse and begin to rape him. Butch manages to untie himself and knock the Gimp out, but just as he is about to leave the pawn shop, he realizes he cannot leave Marsellus to his fate and goes back to save him with a katana in hand.
Butch sneaks up on Maynard and brutally slashes and stabs him, then holds Zed at bay with the katana. Marsellus frees himself and picks up Maynard's shotgun. Before Zed can grab his pistol, Marsellus shoots him in the crotch. He vows that Zed's suffering has only begun, promising that he will "get medieval on [his] ass". Since Butch saved him, Marsellus calls off his feud with him, providing time for Butch to leave Los Angeles and keep what happened there to himself.
Butch does so and takes Zed's chopper to pick up his girlfriend Fabienne and leave Los Angeles for good. While what happens to Zed afterwards is unknown, it's implied that Marsellus kept his word and Zed was tortured, mutilated and killed by his men.
