Zeibu of the Mummy is the main antagonist in episode 18 of the 2010 TV series Tensou Sentai Goseiger. He is a centipede/mummy-themed monster who is a member of the Earth Condemnation Group Yuumajuu. He served his masters, the leaders of Yuumajuu Makuin of the Blob and Kinggon the Bigfoot and helped tem with their plans to conquer the Human World and wipe out humanity. This Yuumajuu possessed a special ability to brainwash and take over humans' minds by wrapping his bandages around the bodies of his victims. He was one of the first and earlier Yuumajuu monsters to be fought and defeated by Goseigers and GoseiKnight.

He was voiced by Norio Wakamoto.

History[]

Zeibu was released by Makuin to take advantage of the modern media technologies of humanity; taking over a TV station, he uses his bandages to brainwash a popular female broadcaster and uses her to release brainwashing bandages to anyone watching her show, further by taking over all of the channels to maximize output. The plan was to entrap the world and it's inhabitants in his bandages to rot so that the Yuumajuu would finally have an Earth that they wanted.

While securing himself within the studio, the Goseiger use the Landick Brothers to burrow themselves into the studio and to stop him and the Yuumajuu superiors from running their broadcast.

Once outside, Alata convinced Gosei Knight that he is the real problem that needs to be dealt with instead of merely human society, forcing the rebellious Headder to fight and crush Zeibu, using his Gosei abilities to weaken him and destroy him with Knightick Dynamic.

After Buredoran revived Zeibu, Alata convinces Gosei Knight to watch them fight it to prove their own abilities. Summoning Gosei Great, they use Another Seaick Gosei Great and Another Landick Gosei Great to weaken Zeibu's power before finishing him off with Hyper Gosei Great.

Zeibu was later summoned as a phantom illusion by Semattarei of the Brocken Spectre, initially fighting Gosei Great as an illusion but then being given physical form after Buredoran powered him up with the Abare Headder. They thrashed the Goseigers and wee ready to kill them. However, it eventually turned to thier side and gave them the Miracle Headders which allowed them to access Super Goseiger mode which esily took down the monsters and finished off Semattarei and his illusions.

Personality[]

Zeibu of the Mummy was a sinister, cunning, calculating, treacherous, devious and ruthless Yuumajuu monster, who will stopat nothing to destroy the Goseigers and GoseiKnight and take control of the humanity via his branwashing bandages and TV translation in order to give the Earth into the hands of Yuumajuu. He was shown to be quite cunning, calculating, deceptive and arrogant with his plan to brainwash the population of Japan and then continue his plan in the entire world in order to give control over the Earth into the hands of his race Yuumajuu. Zeibu was also shown to be highly hot-tempered, arrogant, confident and irascible and was enraged when Goseiger foiled his plan. He became full of wrath and desired to get revenge on the heroes for ruining his brilliant plan. However, despite his arrogant, confident, sadistic and narcissistic nature, Zeibu also showed somewhat cowardly side, as he initially hesitated to fight the Rangers himself and sent his brainwashed people to fight for him. And only when Goseiger ruined his plan he decided to take on the heroes himself and get revenge for his failure. However, despite all of this, Zeibu was shown to be quite loyal to his masters Makuin and Kinggon and was shown to be very polite with them. He also valued and cared about his race and was proud to give Yuumajuu the rightful place, in his opinion, to rule the Earth.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Bandages: He can create bandages that possess special messages which forces a rule to whatever is struck by it.
  • Accursed Whip: Zeibu's main ability in which he releases special "bandages" which can brainwash whoever is struck by them into being his slaves. While he can emit the bandages on his own, their true purpose is to be distributed to anyone who watches or witnesses those wearing them, thus passing them off through visual contact and rapidly multiplying victims under his will.

Arsenal[]

  • Staff: Zeibu's main weapon, a gold staff with a roll of bandages at the tip and a skull with a bandage wrapped over the left eye in the center.
  • Cursed Sand: Zeibu could release a large amount of sand from the staff.
  • Cursed Whip: A weaon he used in battle.

Trivia[]

  • His usage of propaganda and taking over television is similar to the aliens in this movie, who hide within society and create subliminal messages to prevent anyone from realizing they are there.
  • Zeibu's name comes from the movie They Live (ゼイリブ Zei Ribu), and his title comes from the movie The Mummy .
  • The kanji in Zeibu's name is the one for "rot" (腐 fu), referring to him "rotting away" free will.
