Zelos is a minor antagonist of the manga Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Legend - Apocalypse of The Gods, a spin-off of the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok.
Zelos is the Greek God of Competition, Rivalry and Jealousy, a subordinate of Zeus, the older brother of Nike and a commander of the Divine Honor Guard, charged with ensuring that the Ragnarok Tournament runs smoothly along with his team.
Appearance[]
Zelos is a humanoid-looking God with long, thick hair that reaches his waist, and two tufts that fall on his shoulders. He wears a short, long-sleeved jacket, a cloak that he wears only on his left side, a belt with a buckle, long pants, and comfortable shoes, as well as carrying a scabbard with his sword on the left side of his body.
Personality[]
Zelos is a God who is extremely loyal to his superior Zeus, who makes sure to obey his every order. Because of this, he is willing to go up against beings more powerful than him such as Sun Wukong and Belial, even if it means losing his life. He cares deeply for his comrades, including his sister Nike.
Biography[]
Zelos is the Greek God of Competition, Rivalry and Jealousy, the older brother of Nike and a commander of the Divine Honor Guard. Following the announcement of the Ragnarok Tournament and later the Apocalypse Tournament, Zeus tasks Zelos and his team with ensuring that the Ragnarok Tournament is held as scheduled, even if it means going up against the contenders of the Apocalypse Tournament.
After defeating Prometheus in the Round of 16 of the Apocalypse Tournament, Sun Wukong announces that he will save Humanity if he wins the Apocalypse Tournament, prompting Zelos to claim that they must stop him at all costs, though first he and Nike deal with the intruder who has invaded the Olympus Palace. He reveals himself to be Belial and Zelos immediately threatens him, which causes Belial to attack him and Nike seemingly killing them.
Powers and Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: As a God, Zelos possesses physical abilities far superior to those of any ordinary Human. His body cannot be damaged by mortal weapons, however it can still be damaged by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons. For the same reason, Zelos is unable to die due to old age. Also being a commander of the Divine Honor Guard, it is likely that Zelos is stronger than all of his comrades including Nike, though not enough to stand up to a fighter like Belial.
Sword Skill: Zelos is a swordsman, and it can be assumed that he is good at using it since he has become a commander.
Trivia[]
- In Greek Mythology, Zelos and Nike are also siblings of Bia and Kratos, but it is currently unknown if the two are related to their counterparts from "Record of Ragnarok".
