Zeus is the overall secondary antagonist in Disney's 3rd full-length animated feature film Fantasia, appearing as the main antagonist in the the Pastoral Symphony segment. He is the King of the Greek Gods who enjoys watching people suffer for his own personal entertainment.
While the segments all have no dialogue in the entire film, the segment's music was performed by the late Leopold Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Zeus interrupted Bacchus' party by starting a thunderstorm. He then gets his right-hand man Vulcan to create lightning bolts so that he can throw them at the Centaurs, Cherubs, and Pegasus to mess up the party. He also sends Boreas to make powerful winds across the land, much to Bacchus' discomfort.
Zeus eventually gets bored and stops ruining the party, then goes to sleep by hiding himself in the dark clouds as he disappears along with Vulcan and Boreas.
Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance
Though Zeus does not physically appear in the game, he attacks Sora and the Spirts and Nightmares by throwing lightning bolts, and he also creates a storm. The only way to stop is using the Reality Shift.
- This is the first of two depictions of the character in a Disney animated feature. Unlike his noble, jolly, laid-back and good-natured counterpart from that would appear approximately 56 years later in Disney's 1997 film Hercules, this counterpart of Zeus is aggressive, arrogant and mischievous, more closely reflecting the original Zeus from Greek mythology.
