Zeus, real name Alexander Ladesman, nicknamed by his father as Xander, is the main antagonist of the 2010 science-fiction/fantasy novel The Age of Zeus.
Biography[]
Son to Regis Ladesman, Xander grew to resent his father after his mother's death, as Regis was a workaholic and was barley ever around. Xander attempted for years to get his father's attention by misbehaving and being a troublemaker, but eventually realized that this was only putting more distance between him and his father, so he switched tactics, and instead decided to spite his father by being better than him.
Creating a serum that could turn normal humans into near-gods, Xander tracked down eleven terrible people who Xander thought would be willing to agree to his terms and become gods. The cost however would be to strip them of all their memories, but the benefit meant power beyond the wildest dreams of humankind. All eleven agreed to his terms, and thus became the Gods of Olympus, as Xander filled their head with hypnotic identities of the Greek Gods, until they truly believed they were the Greek Gods.
Xander, however, took the role of Zeus for himself, but kept his memories. He only removed the memories of the prior eleven so that he could control them, but he wanted to keep his own memories for himself.

Eventually, in their final battle, his father cut off Zeus' genitals, causing Zeus to bleed to death, and explode in an electric explosion, killing his father in the process.
