Emerald Hill: The Little Nyonya Story[]
Zhang Jinquan was introduced to be a prominent member of the Zhang family. However, after the death of his nephew Haoming, who was accidentally shot dead by his son Zhang Yaoguang, Jinquan tried any means possible from hiding the truth throughout the whole series. This started from him threatening to report a servant to the police who was a witness to the incident, although he fired her anyways. Behind the Zhang family’s back, he used his connections, which included his brother-in-law Kang Zhijie to kidnap his 3 year old daughter-in-law Zhang Anya, another witness to the incident.
Throughout the series, Zhang Jinquan wanted more power in the Yongli Enterprise as he considered on shifting the business to Hong Kong. He also wanted to kick Zhang Xinniang out of the family as she is not related to the Zhangs by blood, and wanted to do even more so after the return of Zhang Anya. He butted heads often with Zhang Jinhe not only about the company, but about Zhang Xinniang. Jinquan instructed some gangsters to set fire to the brothel where Zhang Anya was forced to work in. The police investigated the incident and wrongly accused Zhang Xinniang as the culprit. Taking advantage of that incident, Jinquan decided to reach out to the press, stating that the Zhangs decided to disown her. When Jinhe uncovered his kidnapping plot, Jinquan argued with him in his gun room and ended up shooting Jinhe and forced Zhang Jinhai to mention that it was an act of suicide.

Jinquan shooting Jinhe in 'defence'
With Jinhe and Li Shuqin dead, Jinquan assumed power of Yongli Enterprises. Yongli Enterprises suffers financially while Jinquan appoints his sons Zhang Yaoliang and Zhang Yaoguang, who had just returned from their studies in the UK to take charge. After consulting with Zhang Xinniang and Zhang Anya, Zhang Jinhai decided to bring Jinquan to the ancestral hall to tell him that his ancestors have not forgave him for his sin and has to leave the Zhang family. Jinquan then started a brawl which resulted in him catching on fire from the candle offering in the ancestral hall and then spreading it to Jinhai. Both men were hospitalised and Jinquan was not heard of ever since.
