Zo'akban is a supporting antagonist in Chris Heimerdinger's 2020 novel Thorns Of Glory, Part One. He is the half-brother of Sa'abkan as the leader of the Earth-Stone Lamanite tribe.
Past
Not much is known about Zo'akban's past, other than the fact that he is the half-brother of Sa'abkan. It can be assumed that, after Sa'abkan's death in Drums Of Desolation, Zo'akban was soon appointed as the new chieftain of the Earth-Stone division of the Lamanites.
Thorns Of Glory, Part One
Zo'akban is first seen when Lamanai has brought Apollus, Moroni, and other Nephite prisoners into the Lamanites' camp. When Apollus challenges Lamanai to a duel, Zo'akban, along with the other gathered Lamanite chieftains, urges Lamanai to kill Apollus, saying that if he does, they will pledge their loyalty to him as their king. Lamanai orders his minions First Deer to fight Apollus, only for Apollus to make quick work of him. Zo'akban and the other Lamanite chieftains watch as Lamanai confront Apollus himself, and Apollus kills Lamanai by snapping his neck.
