Zodiac is a villain from Marvel comics debuting his own series during the Dark Reign event as an independent villain and clashed with several Marvel superheroes before settling on becoming a foe for Moon Knight.

Biography[]

Nothing is known About Zodiac's origins prior to becoming a villain, but as a young man he became an anarchist seeking to destroy the goverment and the Avengers, making preperations with a deveice planted during an Avengers meeting. However, after the events of Secret Invasion, Norman Osborn became head of S.H.I.E.L.D., renamed H.A.M.M.E.R., and formed the Dark Avengers and Cabal in charge of the law. Zodiac was outraged, so he decides to ruin Osborn's image. He hired Manslaughter Marsdale, the second Clown, Trapster, and Death Reaper and made his headquarters in a crashed Helicairer. Zodiac proceeded to torture over 100 HAMMER agents to death, and hide their bodies in abandoned farmhouse to send Osborn a message. He also kills the members of the villain organization also called Zodiac, in order to "free up" his name.

Zodiac later plans to attack a superhero, namely the Human Torch, and after incapacitating him, beats him to near death with a metal pipe. He then tries to kill him by bombing the hospital he was transported to. In his grandest scheme yet, Zodiac uses the Helicarrier's technology to fake an attack by Galactus to throw HAMMER off his tracks. Meanwhile, he unleashed a Red Ronin robot onto New York City, killing hundreds. He would then send his gang out into the city to cause mayhem and destruction wherever they liked. All of this was also a distraction, which he used to personally sneak into a HAMMER facility to steal the Scorpio Key.

He would later return working from the shadows revealing himself as the master of the Young Masters with Egghead being the last member standing creating the super villain darwinisum recruting the young Egghead for his cause. Later he would soon come into conflict with Moon Knight recently for claiming he had wasted his potential in causing chaos.

Pain Immunity: Zodiac cannot feel any pain, an ability he surgically copied from Man-Slaughter Marsdale.

Abilities[]

Genius Level Intellect: Zodiac is a highly cunning criminal. He placed a listening device in the meeting room at Avengers Tower. He later hospitalized a superhero, blew up the hospital he's admitted when his relatives come to visit, killed 100 H.A.M.M.E.R. agents and left their bodies in a remote farmhouse to throw H.A.M.M.E.R. off the scent, then used the helicarrier's connections to H.A.M.M.E.R.'s mainframe to simulate an attack on New York by Galactus. At the same time, he caused devastation in New York with a rogue Red Ronin robot, and while the authorities and the heroes were scrambling, he sent his gang to do whatever they wanted, while he stole the Scorpio Key. He later on revealed himself to be the benefactor of the Young Masters, calling the events he orchestrated 'super-villain Darwinism'. he planted surveillance equipment to monitor Moon Knight's every move, and then he got to close to him using the identity of Terry, "a kid from the neighborhood". With time, he started acting against him, hiring Rampage to rob Moon Knight of all his money, and, finally, when the time was right, he put Moon Knight to the test, revealing his true identity in the process.
Master Hacker: Zodiac appears to be very knowledgeable about high-tech sciences, and has been able to hack into sophisticated equipment.
Explosives Expert: Zodiac is an expert in explosives whether they be timed or set to a detonator.
Marksmanship: Zodiac is skilled at using firearms in combat.

Scorpio Key: Zodiac wields the Scorpio Key, which is able to channel unspecified energies for a number of effects, including disintegration of a person or even of a much larger area, disruption of power over a wide area, the sharpening of its edge to make very clean cuts, and other effects. It allegedly contained delicate circuitry that was unable to effectively function when wet.
Switchblade: Zodiac pulled out a switchblade knife in an attempt to kill Soldier.
Handgun: Zodiac used a handgun during a fight against Moon Knight.
