Biography[]
Past[]
At some point in Zoey Kruger's life, she fell in love with an unknown man and soon after had a daughter with him. For several years, around ten given her daughter's age, Zoey Kruger felt suffocated by her family and wanted a way to get away from them permanently, so she came up with a plan to make it look as if her home was broken into and she killed both her daughter and spouse, then made it look like it was a revenge killing by murdering a drug dealer named Darius Rae who she had beaten the day before the murders.
Dex Takes a Holiday[]
One day while at the MMPD, Dexter Morgan pays a visit to fellow blood analyst Sam when he tells Dexter about Zoey's case file and questionable blood swipe found at the scene, which belonged to Darius whom Zoey said she got after grazing him with a bullet as he was running away, when it was strangely only in one area of the house, on the door jam.
Dexter goes to the shooting range where Zoey frequently visits to practice and notices her expert levels of marksmanship, which wouldn't explain how Darius was "only grazed". While he looks over the crime scene photos, he notices that there were no fingerprints of anyone other than her husband and daughter in the house and none from Darius, he's able to tell she had to have been wearing gloves during the murders. Dexter later finds the same gloves in her trash cans with gunpowder residue from her pistol on them, confirming it was her who killed her family and not Darius.
After growing suspicious of Dexter's knowledge of her crimes, she prepares to fake another breaking and entering to kill Dexter, but he manages to subdue her after sedating her. Dexter then takes Zoey back to her daughter's room and sets up a kill room for her. When she wakes up, she admits to her crimes and asks Dexter if he's going to rape her which she had also said Darius tried to do to her before she "shot him", amusing him with her strange fascination of rape. He tells her that's he's packed several suitcases filled with her belongings and bought a plane ticket to the Philippines, a country which does not extradite criminals, to make it look like she fled the country when the case was starting to re-open and make her the number one suspect in the case and ruin her reputation. Dexter then collects her blood slide and stabs her in the chest with a knife to kill her.
