Zomba is the main antagonist of The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo episode, "That's Monstertainment". She is one of the 13 ghosts that were imprisoned in the Chest of Demons. However, she was accidentally released by Shaggy and Scooby. She tried to steal and destroy the Chest of Demons, thus making sure she and the other ghosts would forever be free.
She was voiced by Susan Blu.
Biography[]
Zomba appears as a TV show announcer while Mystery Inc.watches a horror flick. Firstly, she pretends to be a normal TV hostess announcing which movie is about to come on. But, she later reveals that she knows they're watching and uses her eyebeams to transport them into the horror film "The Son of The Bride of The Ghost of Frankenstein". She comes out of the TV and tells of her plan to trap the gang in the movie so she can search for the chest untroubled. The gang are distressed by being trapped in the horror movie and are forced to act the roles in it, while Vincent Van Ghoul tries to figure out a way for them to escape.
Back in the real world Zomba searches the house for the chest of Demons. Eventually she breaks in to the room where it's kept but there she sets off all the traps the gang've set up to protect the chest. Frustrated she breaks in and disables all the traps and blast the vault open with her eyes. She takes the chest and opens it, only to realize that it's a fake copy put there by Flim-Flam. Flim-Flam taunts her for this and says they have the real chest with them in the movie. Zomba instantly teleports to them and chases after Flim-Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul, but they manage to hide from her.
Meanwhile, the horror movie has been going on. Scooby, as Dr. Frankenstein, succeeded in creating his monster; Frankenscoob. Frankenscoob starts chasing the gang but they trick and locks him in a vault. When the gang think they're safe Zomba appears and threatens to take the Chest of Demons. Flim-Flam tricks her into believing the chest is locked in the vault and she runs in, only to be greeted by an angry Frankenscoob. She teleports away and searches for the gang again. Zomba teleports behind Shaggy and tries to grab the chest again. Later, Zomba corners Shaggy and Scooby with the Chest of Demons up on the roof. But, Frankenscoob appears and eventually throws her down into the Chest of Demons, thus trapping her which makes the gang exit the TV and come back to the real world.
Powers and abilities[]
Zomba showed that she had great powers and were a legitimate threat to Mystery Inc. She had the power to suck people into her twisted TV dimension and trapping them there. She could teleport instantly anywhere, even in and out of the real world. Her eyes also had the ability to create beams with an array of capabilities for example; destroying objects.
Her biggest flaw was that she was easily tricked by people and not too clever.
