Zombots are the titular antagonists of Frankenstein's Army. They are mass-produced monstrosities that are created from the corpses of dead soldiers (particulary Nazi infantries) of World War II that are constructed in the same manner of the original Frankenstein's monster in the past. Unlike the original monster, however, these mass produced versions are amoral, monstrous, and driven either by their creator's orders or kills/knock anything that moves.

Other things that differentiate themselves than the original frankenstein monster is that the Zombots are armed with various weapons, which made them far, far more dangerous and deadly.

Purpose[]

The Zombots were created by Viktor Frankenstein and serve him with total dedication. They have simple objectives they follow without hesitation: guarding the secret lab, killing or capturing any humans they encounter, and bringing them back to Dr. Frankenstein to be used for creating more Zombots, as well as aiding in their creation.

Abilities[]

The Zombots were created by to serve as soldiers for the German army, and are loyal only to him. Though they make various guttural growls, hisses, roars, and mechanical noises, they are never shown able to speak, nor do they seem capable of being frightened, reasoned with, or deterred by pain or non-fatal injury, but they are not neither mindless nor stupid. Being undead humans enhanced with cybernetics, including integrated weapons and armor, Even the more frail-looking Zombots are far stronger and more resilient than any human soldier. Although some appear to have no visible eyes or ears they have little difficulty tracking their targets or navigating their environment. Some even have special tools built into them to aid in non-combat tasks, such as hooks, drills, and sawblades. Overall, no two Zombots are alike, making it difficult to anticipate and assess their capabilities and making every new encounter a potentially deadly challenge.

Despite their resilience and savagery, the Zombots are shown to have a few key weaknesses and shortcomings: most of them are shown to wield only melee weapons such as blades and hammers, with very few of them having any kind of ranged weaponry, thus limiting them to close-quarters combat. Even fewer Zombots retain their human hands, having them replaced by weapons, tools, or large metal claws, limiting their capabilities further. Their size and anatomy vary wildly due to their "improvised" designs, with some Zombots having stiff, bulky limbs and bodies that limit their movements and ability to move through tight spaces. Some even have wires, tubes, or bare flesh left uncovered and exposed, although these could be hand-waved as unfinished prototypes. And of course, being constructed individually by hand out of varying mechanical and biological parts severely limits their numbers and how fast they can be produced.

Main Zombot Types[]

Although only five types are listed due to them having more screen times than others, it doesn't mean there are only them: Among more minor Zombot types are Hammerhead, Gorehound, Medic, Craning type, Ivan type, Rotorvator, Razorteeth, Draggers, Crypts, Wall Zombots, T-35 and Pod Zombots.

In the movie, Vassili, Sergei, Ivan who are Red Army soldiers, become Zombots after their deaths.

Burnt Match Man[]

Burn Match Man frankenstein

Burnt Match Man

Burnt Match Man is the very first active Zombot encountered by the protagonists, and is the weakest of known combat-typed zombots. It is armed with a pneumatic blade as its right hand and mechanical clawed fingers on its left hand. This zombot pretends to be inactive until one of the protagonists touch it, in which it immediately activates and becomes curious with Sgt. Novikov until it stabs him with its claw and tore his innards, prompting Novikov's men to gun it down, deactivating it. Sgt. Novikov dies from his wounds seconds later.

Propellerhead[]

Propellerhead

Propellerhead

Propellerhead is one of the largest Zombots encountered. It was the one whom mutilated the farm-boy, who was forced by the protagonists to check the hole where other zombots are transporting a carriage full of dead soldier bodies. Propellerhead tried to kill Dmitri by tearing him apart with its vane until one of the soldiers cut a tube in its side, which turned out to be the fuel pipe. The leaking fuel causes Propellerhead to short-ciruit, setting the zombot on fire before it eventually explodes. However, this also unintentionally killed a captured Nazi as well, as one of it's vane plates impaled his head when Propellerhead blew up.

Mosquito Man[]

Mosquito Man

Mosquito Man is combat-typed zombot, whose limbs are implanted with metal rods that enable it to move around faster and with dexterity. its brains are replaced by machine parts to power their proboscis-like drill, which happens to be its main weapon. Though Mosquito Man seems to be weaker than Machete Workers, it is still deadly on its own right; it was shown to be capable of stealth-killing a soldier by impaling its drill on the back of his head, and burst through his mouth.

Machete Workers[]

Machete Worker zombot

Machete Workers

Machete Workers are combat-typed zombots that have mechanical claws/blades as both their arms and weapons. They are razor sharped, and perfect for close-range combat. It's purpose: to mutilate their foe's body so they can be used either for replace damaged zombot's parts or as new components for creating brand new zombots.

Eva Zombot[]

Eva Zombot

She was once a living field nurse named Eva, who still retain her medical knowledge even after she was reanimated as a Zombot. After her transformation, her new purpose is to repair any damaged/deactivated zombots so they can continue fighting.

Eventual Fate[]

All of these zombots are presumed dead when the laboratory complex where they live in was destroyed by the Soviet Red Army through carpet bombing.
