Zooous is one of the generals and the muscle of the Megid and a major antagonist in Kamen Rider Saber.
He is the Majin who summons Animal Megid. Like his cohorts he seeks to obtain all the Wonder Ride Books so he can use them to remake the world to be a paradise for the Megid.
He would later be upgraded into the much stronger Zooous Predator for an attack on Northern Base of the Sword of Logos.
He is portrayed by Koji Saikawa.
Biography[]
Past[]
Zooous with the other four followers of the mysterious woman.
2000 years prior to the present day, Zooous was part of a group of five travelers alongside Viktor, Legeiel, Storious and the man who would become the first Master Logos. The five sought to find the Wonder World in the hopes that its power could be used to give humanity a better life. They eventually found a mysterious woman from the Wonder World with the power to link the worlds and became her followers, becoming the first humans to set foot in the Wonder World after she enabled them to pass over.
There, the five bore witness to the source of the Wonder World's power, the Book of Omniscience. While Viktor wanted to use the vast array of knowledge stored inside to give humanity a better life, Storious, Legeiel and Zooous became corrupted by its power and sought to use it to enrich themselves. The three soon attempted to steal it and each tore a page from it, embedding the pages into themselves to become the very first Megid. The three were opposed by Viktor and his other companion, who founded the Sword of Logos to safeguard the Book of Omniscience and prevent the Megid or anyone else from abusing its power. The Megid would soon use the pages they had collected to create the Alter Ride Books and use them to build a vast army to fight against the Sword of Logos, triggering the War of the Wonder World. To ensure the Book of Omniscience's power would be less concentrated should it ever fall into anyone's hands, the mysterious woman split it up into dozens of pages, forming the Wonder Ride Books that the swordsmen of the Sword of Logos used to transform into Kamen Riders. The three largest portions of the Book were given to Viktor and Master Logos, with Viktor taking one portion to safeguard himself while the first Master Logos took two to place in Northern and Southern Base. Viktor would also become the Wonder World's new guardian, taking up the name "Tassel".
Calibur's Betrayal[]
Zooous was among those who fought in the great battle between the Megid and Sword of Logos 15 years before the present day. During the fight, Zooous fought Kenshin Nagamine, the previous Kamen Rider Blades and mentor of Rintaro Shindo, and slayed him. Rintaro would later succeed Kenshin as the second Kamen Rider Blades and hold a grudge against Zooous for killing his mentor.
Connecting the Worlds[]
After the second Golem Megid was destroyed by Kamen Rider Buster, Zooous put his plan into motion. Zooous summoned the Hanzaki Megid, who set in motion a plan to gather human hostages for the Megid by spreading blank Alter Ride Books all across the city. When opened, these books would trap whoever opened them within them. One of the people to open them was Sora, the son of Ryo Ogami / Kamen Rider Buster.
Eventually, Zooous and the other Majin put their plan into motion with help from Kamen Rider Calibur. They created giant books at six points in the city that formed a ring and used them to create a portal connecting Earth to the Wonder World, summoning the book that contained the Table of Revelation. While Calibur flew inside the portal to obtain the page, the three Majin assumed their Megid forms to hold off the Kamen Riders of the Sword of Logos. However, they were unable to stop Saber from entering the portal after Calibur.
Ultimately, Saber would thwart Calibur's attempt to obtain the Table of Revelation and Calibur would die after being stabbed through the back by Desast. Zooous was frustrated that all the Megid's work had been undone, but Storious asssured him that it was not for nothing as there were now numerous humans who were linked to the Wonder World that could be used to create Megid.
Targeting Mei[]
Following the demise of Legeiel, Zooous was sent by Storious to create a Megid from Mei Sudo in order to lure out the Kamen Riders. Turning her into the Neko Megid, Zooous was able to draw out Saber and Blades. The two attempted to free Mei, only to discover that the Neko Megid had turned other humans into decorations for itself, leading Touma to pull back out of fear of hitting one of them. Despite this, Saber would later try again to free Mei while Blades held off Zooous, only to stop at the last second when Zooous was about to kill Rintaro in order to save him. With the two Riders defeated, Zooous and the Neko Megid departed for the time being, with Zooous commenting that he had had another fun time with the Riders.
Touma and Rintaro later made another attempt to save Mei. While Rintaro became Blades and held off Zooous, Touma fought Neko Megid and attempted to separate Mei from it, to no avail. After Rintaro and Touma fought off Zooous however Touma was able to pull off a slash that separated Mei from the Megid. With Mei saved, the two Riders finished off the Neko Megid before turning to face Zooous and defeating him with a combined Rider Kick. Despite this, Zooous refused to stay down and got up while on fire to face the two Riders again. Before he could however, Storious intervened and retrieved the key Zooous had dropped before returning to their lair with Zooous.
Death[]
Zooous was later enhanced into his stronger "Zooous Predator" form by Storious. After the barrier to Northern Base was destroyed, Storious brought Zooous Predator with him to attack the base at the same time Reika Shindai and Ryoga Shindai made their move to claim the other Sacred Swords. While Touma and Yuri held off the Shindai siblings, Rintaro went to deal with the Megid. However, with his enhanced strength Zooous Predator easily overpowered the Rider and knocked him out of his transformation. Before Zooous could finish him off however, Buster appeared and told Rintaro to go guard Sophia before charging out a window with Zooous to buy Rintaro some time.
By the time Rintaro met up with Sophia and the others however, Zooous had beaten Ogami, blowing a hole in the wall and tossing his body before Rintaro and the others. Sophia attempted to hold off Zooous to give the others time to escape, but Rintaro refused to run and attacked Zooous again. Becoming Kamen Rider Blades Tategami Hyoujuu Senki, Rintaro fought back against Zooous and pushed him outside the base, before freezing and finishing Zooous off. Zooous then reverted to his human form and commented that he had had fun with Rintaro and wanted to fight him again sometime, before shattering and perishing.
Return to the Wonder World[]
Zooous's spirit appeared in the Wonder World alongside Luna and the spirits of Legeiel, Tassel, the first Master Logos and Storious. All of them greeted Touma after he became the Wonder World's new guardian.
Personality[]
Like Storious and Legeiel, Zooous appears to have at one point been a good-hearted person committed to bringing about a better standard of living for his fellow man. His good intentions stayed with him when he and the rest of Victor's party entered the Wonder World, but after glimpsing of the Book of All, Zooous became corrupted by his desire to obtain it and teamed up with Storious and Legeiel to steal it for their own selfish purposes, with the three using the pages they tore from it to become the Megid.
As a Megid, Zooous is much more battle hungry and bloodthirsty than his associates, viewing his battles as "hunts" and always looking to enjoy himself as much as possible whenever he enters a fight. Because of this, Zooous often gets bored if he is fighting against an opponent who is much weaker than he is, to the point where he will often not bother to finish off and kill them as he views them as not worth the effort. Compared to Storious and Legeiel, who generally prefer planning and strategy, Zooous employs little strategy other than brute force when it comes to fighting the Sword of Logos. This does not mean Zooous is stupid however, as in battle he displays an almost feral cunning with how he fights and on occasion is capable of some incredibly devious tactics, such as when he turned Mei Sudo into the Neko Megid, knowing of her relationship with Touma and Rintaro and how reluctant they would be to fight her.
