Zugu is one of the two acting generals of the Anacondrai Cultists, alongside Eyezor, and one of Master Chen's lieutenants who appears as a major antagonist in Season 4: Tournament of Elements in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, as well as a minor antagonist in the TV special Day of the Departed.
He was voiced by Brian Dobson, who also voiced Ronin and Soul Archer in the same series.
Biography[]
At the very beginning, Zugu was originally a sumo wrestler but was recruited by Master Chen to be one of his generals. At one point, he suggested to Master Chen to hold Sushi Sundays to raise morale, but Chen ignored the idea. But then, when Chen organized the tournament for all the Elemental Masters, his goal in the tournament was to take the elemental powers of the masters in the tournament, and use them to make him and all of Chen's minions Anacondrai warriors. One by one, Chen managed to take the Elemental Masters' forces, but soon the Elemental Masters began to work together and they destroyed Chen's wand with which Chen sucked the Elements of the Elemental Masters, and he, Chen, Clouse, and Eyezor captured Chen's daughter, Skylor, and escaped to the island cave. But then when Clouse suggested to Chen a way to use the elemental forces sucked by Skylor to make Chen and his minions Anacondrai warriors, he, Zugu, Kapau, and Chope left after Skylor as she managed to escape. While chasing Skylor, he and Eyezor were captured by the Ninjas and Elemental Masters, but when Kapau read the spell that turned him and all of Chen's minions into Anacondrai warriors, he and all of Chen's minions began fighting Ninjas and all Elemental Masters, but then they stole all the flying vehicles and went to Ninjago with them and tried to conquer it. But when the Ninjas and Elemental Masters were able to create the Elemental Dragons, they followed Chen and tried to stop Chen, and in Ninjago he and all the other Anacondrai Cultists found the effect of the spell to cease because the spell was left unread. And Chen knew that the effect of the spell would become permanent by finishing it with a essence of a true Anacondrai, and when they found the only remaining Anacondrai Serpentine, Pythor, he and the other Anacondrai cultists used his essence to make the spell permanent. And as he, Chen, and all the Anacondrai Cultists marched towards the Corridor of Elders, the Ninjas, the Elemental Masters, the Serpentine, and the inhabitants of Ninjago stood against them in the Corridor and tried to defeat them. They had a strong superiority during the battle, but when Garmadon was deported to the Cursed Realm, he and all the other Anacondrai Cultists were deported with Chen to the Cursed Realm. But then when the Preeminent, the ruler of the Cursed Realm was destroyed, he and all others expelled into the Cursed Realm were destroyed with the Preeminent. Later, when Master Yang's magic returned Chen from the Departed Realm, he and Eyezor also returned from the Departed Realm, and fought with Chen against Kai and Nya, but Kai and Nya together managed to defeat him, Chen and Eyezor, and send them back to the Departed Realm.
